Crash on startup

I just saw this game on steam and downloaded the demo.

When i attempt to run it get a windows titled "Eufloria Demo" which renders some "generating ... " messages on the screen for a while until it crashes ("Eufloria has stopped working").

I tried searching the forums a bit, and based on that installed the VC++ 2008 redist package, but it doesnt help.

Any ideas?

It's C#, but I don't have it installed, and have no problems. Did you buy it on steam? If you did, then post your hardware/specs (you can get a list of them from te 'system info' item in the settings? menu. If not there, then somewhere), if not, then download steam (it's free), and then post them.

Also, what OS are you using, what  programs do you have running at the same time, have you updated all your drivers?

My video card drivers are very recent, but i will try to update them.

The system is a Core i7 860 with 8gb ram and a Geforce 275GTX video card running Windows 7 64-bit.

Im not running anything apart from my AV and the steam client (which was started for a different reason

I upgraded my video card drivers to the latest WHQL version, but it didnt help. Is there a log file somewhere that i can post?

If I remember correctly, eufloria is bad at reporting/logging errors, so there is likely no error log.

If you have steam anyway, you can still get the 'sytem info' report, so post it and it might help. There was a problem a while back with nVidia (I think) cards, and it might be similar to that.

I tried to install it on my laptop (Win 7 64-bit, ati video card). I get *exactly* the same behavior there.

Interesting, i installed the demo from steam instead and now it works. I guess the demo download on eufloria-game.com is broken?

That sounds about right - I was having upload issues a while back. I'll re-up the demo. Thanks for the report!
