[Bug] After saving game, zoom out simplification is broken

(1/2) > >>

p0wd3r:
I've had this game on Android for a bit, now I have it on Steam (Eufloria HD) and everything was going great until I exited the game.  I was playing level 10 of the story mission and then exited the game and saved.  When I came back to the game, I was prompted to resume or start over (normal behavior) so I resumed.  Now I am no longer able to zoom out and see the trees simplified and the seeds are extremely tiny.  More explanation?  When zoomed all the way in, I can see all of the branches of the trees, their seeds, etc...  When I zoom out, I should see the trees condense into an icon of the type of tree (speed, strength, energy, defense, etc...) but instead I just see the trees as if I'm zoomed in, but they're extremely tiny.  I can't tell how many seeds are around my asteroids, and the tops of the trees look like little clouds with all of the seeds on them.  It makes the game unplayable because I can't easily see the rest of the board when zoomed, and can't tell what is going on with each asteroid while not.  :(  Is there something that I can install (some MS redistributable  package? Open GL?  et al?) to bring this back to normal?  The task icon used to be the Eufloria logo, now it looks like a generic system icon.  Please help!

What I've tried...
Uninstall, reinstall.
Reinstall over steam version using the DRM free download from Humble.
Reinstall in new location using Humble download.
Change settings in game.
Change levels.
Delete saves.
Restart steam/verify cache

Running Windows 8.1, Eufloria HD, Nvidia GFX
Screenies attached.

That's odd. Let me poke ExtremeXS about this...

ExtremeXS:
Hi,

That's pretty odd - not one I've come across.

Can you tell me what Options are set on your steam version at the moment?  There is an option there that can do this - so it's probably a good first port of call.  (A screen shot of the Options screen is fine - the one where is has settings like full screen, detail level etc.

Also if it's not an options setting gone wonky - do you still have you save session available?  I could grab your current options and resume game and see what happens when I run them here.

That data should be in your "Documents/Eufloria HD" folder (just zip that folder up).

Cheers,
Mark

Unfortunately I deleted the original save, but I made a new one, I'll attach it and a screenie of the options.  Same options that I started with are currently set as they are in the screenie (I hope these are the options you mean, I added them to the zip as well).  Glad you're stumped, cuz I sure am!  Such a simple, amazing game!

Bonobo:
I seem to remember that somebody once said that the “Artsy” setting was flaky, but that was a long time ago and I can’t remember who it was.
