I don't think this will happen, atleast not for a good while! Because as the new update will remove all the fundtions, it will be problems doing this...

He was asking if the single player campaign could be updated to feature more LUA scripted sequences to make the story "brighter" and more dynamic rather than having sitting meteors all scattered about like it has been.
That's actually his point. The "shiny Lua scripted sequences", like movable asteroids, depend on function that are implemented on the current game engine. Since the game engine will change, those functions will no longer be implemented(Making us go back to the stone age), and it will take some time for them to be restored.
