how about a king of the hill map?

you know... king of the hill. you could make one asteroid the center point and you have to capture hold it for the specified amount of time. each player would have their own timer and you could somehow make a ui mod to support this? maybe? also your timer wouldnt reset if the enemy captured the middle.
so what do ya think?

Yep  I just need a little yelp from somebody. *has never coded anything in whole life* I do know the basics but I can't get the hang of placing asteroids

Maybe you could have it add seedlings to the hill. So, holding the hill would allow you to conquer the enemy. Make it the only passage to the other asteroid groups.

my plan was kind of a circle around the center asteroid but with some asteroids scattered in between

Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing.  If we can get the conditions to get the game to end then I'll throw the level together for you and make a way for the AI to be a challenge

I haven't tried custom drawings on lua yet, but can those be re-drawn during active gameplay?

If possible, that could be a good use as a visual timer on the asteriod itself.

Maybe we should see if InTouch wants to code it himself.  :>  It was his idea, after all!  And now there are lots of programming guides and of course there's lots of help available on the forums, so there's really no excuse. :P
