Good thing you've got the demo for free, so you won't buy it and regreat it. :)

Also, being more concise/constructive criticism would give you a lot more credibility. One thing is for sure, though. If you want to get a generic game out of Eufloria, you'll surely be disapointed. :P

Seriously twenty bucks.

Play better free games, we don't actually care.

I recommend Ur-Quan Masters - 100% classics and 100% free.

So you signed up just to say that? Hmmm...

But... I'll have to agree with you on the $20 price, I would not have paid $20, that's to much for any game of this type. The whole Reflexive.com catalog of games is $10 and under. I got the $14.99 Steam pre-order deal, and that was pushing it for me. What got me was how much I enjoyed the game and it is a great game, just not $20 great. I'll give my support this time, but it's not going to be often at these prices. Maybe $10 at the most and these "indie" type games would sell more and then quickly drop down to five bucks when sales start to slack off.
Title: price (and, Linux)

I think it's likely that more than twice as many copies will sell at $10 than at $20. But I'm no economist.

If the Linux version comes out and works flawlessly, I'll buy it at either price (partly on principle, because I want to support this sort of thing).

You see, Eufloria isn't Linux-compatible not because someone said "Fsck that Linux", but because of:
- oops, our LUA binding does not work natively on Linux and we don't have time to rewrite and retest it
- oooooops, Eufloria runs under wine, but mysteriously, seemingly random crashes and we have even less time just to understand why

It will support Linux through wine or not, eventually.

Pricing - well, 2D Boy had an interesting experiment with their "pay as much as you wish" recently...

Yea, but they should have capped it at a buck or two minimum.

Have a look at all the cheap asses paying only a penny...

I do not have a problem with Eufloria's pricing point. Well, I had the strong Euro as an advantage, thus only paying 11,24€ on Steam. But I got my fair share of fun out of the game with about 13 or 14 hrs spent. That is way more than with most of the so-called "AAA titles" that usually bore me to death very quickly.

I bought the game on steam for 14.99 and I think that was good enough. I kind of agree that 20.00 is an overshot but this game is pretty solid.

Seems decent to me.  Haven't bought it yet, and although the cracked option is appealing at $20, I would have paid $10-15 for Dyson 1.20, which is what existed the last time I visited here.  Man have things changed!  Most of the reason why I plan on buying is because I like how it was developed and the contact between the developers and forum members.

Personally, I'm fine with the pricing... Sure, a little steep for an indie game, but it's a quality game, I've really enjoyed it... or, at least, I've enjoyed the 1.2 demo a lot... 2.0 is still giving problems... But as soon as Alex and...whas his name, I forget :P... As soon as they fix that Intel graphics problem, I'll be playing it nonstop...

I mean....sure... 10 bucks would've been nice... What with Modern Warfare 2 coming out in less than 2 weeks...

Oh my God...less than 2 weeks...

Considering the amount of money I've wasted on current MMO's and the time spent playing them (ugh mmos lately) in comparison to this, $20.00 is very cheap for the amount of game hours I received from it.

It's called target market and I was happy to pay $20 for this game!  I have a feeling I will be giving back more in the way of maps soon as well.

graph

Keep in mind that offer and resulting graph was produced long after launch, after the hype, and after most of the target market had already bit the hook!

I am a great supporter of indie games but lately many indie programmers are getting greedy to say the least.
I am from Italy and wanted to buy this game on steam.....it costs 15 euro (THAT'S ABOUT 22-23 $). In the end I will probably shell them out, as I enjoied Dyson a lot last year when I played it (for free), and I like to support great indipendent programmers, but still, I don't like how lately some indie games are getting to expensive for the limited (even if great) content they are offering.

A price of 9.99$ would have been more fair. Don't want to start flame wars, but this is exactly why piracy is so widespred.....just my two words on the matter.

I agree with tatami (more or less) - I think $15 would have been about right for the game, the other $5 because you're small, indie & I love you for it.

1. If you complain about the price, $20 dollars isn't much if you actually have an income.
2. If you do not have an actual income, its very likely that your parents support you. So you lose there...
3. Stop complaining on a forum in which the majority of the members enjoy the game, does no good to voice an opinion with only little thoughts to back it up.
4. If you spend your time having to register on a forum so you can post one thing and that one thing being nothing, go outside; it's nice out there.
5. It's the internet, voicing your opinion(such an insignificant one too) is as useful as shooting at a fly with a bazooka(really...).

Enough said.

1. If you are an active gamer, than that $20 for games such as these does add up to a lot of money. Now it is a great game, as I've said, just not $20 great.
2. Necessary?
3. Blaa...
4. And your 1st post is a real winner? Please take your own advise.
5. As you said, its the internet, voice your opinion, so what if its useful or not, if you don't like it, than look elsewhere, ...or you can take the time to sign up to a forum like this and voice your own opinion as you have done so thoughtfully well. Keep shooting, you'll get one someday.

I had just bought the game about an hour before I posted that. ^^

I don't plan on making it my last either. Just seemed like a good place to start.

Johnny I am a looser by your definition because I joined this forum just to say this.

1. Active gamer in my head means Guy Who is WASTING his time Regularly.  Now we all waste time. Some people waste less, and some waste more. Its a luxury to waste alot and thats why I cant even think about playing WoW or similar, or even watch movies.  I would say this game appeals to a creative gamer or a more peace centered person. Maybe I dont want to see blood splatter on my screen all the time, but I still want struggle and victory. Hm. (looks at american selection)  well there is none. This stands out. It fills that void.

2. Actual income is turning into 5 dollars a month extra goes to FOOD and not ... games? Look around kid. some people are slaves to not having anything.

3. Hey enjoy the game. This one is ok to enjoy.

4. I am a looser I guess however we have not talked about other things, like what else I do other then games. but lets keep it simple and talk about games.

5. I bought the game out of spite. The ad says "GO BUY IT" so damn its subliminal! ha.  Its 20 bucks for circles and dots that act like bugs. Yes its too much.  I'm an indie level designer but I don't charge people for my stuff. I'll make one level for this if there are tools around but charging someone with the expectation they make the games content is... weak...it would be better and more expected if price was 10.... but 20 is turning into REAL game and not half baked one.

and WHO said it was nice outside? W T F can you not look UP?  There are drift antennas above you! metal haze! stay inside otherwise you will need to detox BAD. Play games in the air conditioning to stay healthy if you are in a city. Do I need to call them by name or who knows about what I am talking about?

Take it easy.

I would pay even 50 bucks for this piece of art. Just finished it all and I can say thats the best ambient game I've ever played in my life. And because I'm into electronic music the OST is wonderful. Thx Milieu.

P.S.
need more levels please :D
