Post by: durt101 on August 17, 2008, 04:31:18 PM
I can't extract Dyson, or run it. Do you need a RAR extractor to extract it, something special?
P.S. smilies are fugly :P

Download Dyson

Currently, Dyson does not use an installer. This will change soon; in the meantime please follow the instructions below to run the game. Dyson is currently available for Windows PCs only.

Windows
Download and install Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework.
Download Dyson.rar.
Extract Dyson.rar to a convenient place on your local drive (we recommend WinRAR for archive extraction).
Run Dyson.exe.
Don’t forget to check back to dyson-game.com for updates, or check for new updates using the in-game update checker!

The problem is in WinRAR - The website says I have to buy it. Can I get it for free? I do NOT want to have to buy an extraction device...

Then use 7-zip (http://http://www.7-zip.org/). It's free and works 100% of the time.

No no, it suggests you buy it :-) The trial version words perfectly and works without limitation.

The next release of Dyson will come in an installer that will deal with all the .net nastiness etc for you. Sorry about that, it's just a hang over from the competition where we didn't have time to set up an installer. WinRAR should work fine in the mean time and personally I find it to be a really great application, worth the buy for me anyway.
