Game runs at 8-10 fps max
« on: January 07, 2010, 12:40:40 PM »
Hi guys,

For some reason the game is running at about 8-10 fps, even the start menu is really not taking my clicks and moving like molasses. I've updated the video card driver thinking "hey I'm prolly overdue for an update anyway" but no luck. Well, it DID fix the with font in the option menu, now I can read the text where there was but white font on white prior to upgrading the drivers. But I gain 0 FPS.

Any ideas?

AMD Athlon 64 3800+
2.41 GHz 2.00 GB of RAM
Video card: NVIDIA GEForce 9600 GT
Latest driver from Nvidia

Do other OpenGL games run poorly? Try the Osmos demo...

Recently upgraded my PC to Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit.    ;D

But Eufloria (v2.02 demo) still won't work! It runs at 2, maybe 3, fps in the main menu, and while all the text and buttons work if I hold the mouse button down for a few seconds, I can't play any of the levels because they don't seem to be there.

While it is better than before the upgrade (where I'd be greeted with a big, warm error message everytime I tried to play), it's still technically unplayable. I'm fairly sure it's not my hardware, which I had to upgrade as well to run Win 7, and it's not particularly using up humongous amounts of memory. I'd appreciate any help (again) in getting this to work.

It's like the damn thing's taunting me...  >:(

PS  And before you ask... No, I can't run the Osmos demo either, due to the same problem (it, however, was fine before... hmmm...)

*UPDATE*
Awesome! Both Eufloria and Osmos work! Yay! ;D ;D ;D

I've gotten it working after a few months, with a normal frame rate and I can see the levels too. Thanks for the help!

Ensure you have the absolute latest drivers - don't let Windows fool you, download the latest ones from NVidia and install them :) See if that helps.
