Crash on level 14
« on: July 26, 2010, 05:02:00 AM »
I'm getting a recurring crash on level 14, and once on level 11. The crash happens after a good long time of play (maybe 30-40 mins), and as level 14 is a longer level this makes it completely unplayable.

I'm using Vista 64-bit, version 2.05, and steam. Any ideas?

Thanksf or the report - I'll start stress testing that level right now.

If you notice anything common about the crashes, like what you're doing at the time or if anything similar is happening, please let me know. I set that level to play a few times with AI controlling the player and didn't see any crashes, also played through it once myself. I wonder vaguely if it's to do with the 64-bit OS, but that really shouldn't make a difference.

If you click on 'settings' (I think, but try other menus), then on 'system info' or similar, it will give you a list of your hardware and system specs. Post that, it may help.

I'd actually suggest that to everyone. Download steam, (it's free) and use it for bug reports, as I said above. You can also get HL2:Lost coast and HL2:deathmatch for free if you have an ati or nvidia video card.

EDIT:I just realised that I didn't say where the menus were...
I mean the steam settings, not eufloria.

Well, I'm not sure why, but I just played the level again to see if there was a common action that triggered the crash... and it worked fine. Sigh. I figured four crashes in a row would mean recurring.
