If a planet with an upgraded defense tree is captured while the laser mine produced by that tree is active (not still attached to the tree), when that mine is subsequently destroyed, the tree will not produce another laser mine.  Since the tree still has a flower attached to it, you cannot add another flower to make it produce laser mines again.  If an enemy laser mine destroys that flower, attaching a new flower to the defense tree still will not make it produce a laser mine again.

I have also noticed that enemy defense trees sometimes have multiple flowers attached to it.

This is based on version 2.02 and occurs in every game, in other words the behavior is uniform and consistent.  I'm posting about it since I didn't notice this issue mentioned in the release notes for 2.03 (I have Eufloria through Steam and the update hasn't propagated there yet).

I just now updated the game to v2.03 (standalone) and played an level and it appears that this bug has been fixed. The enemy asteroid after which is captured by the player with an flower attached to defense tree will produce an mine for the player.  :) Hope you can check it out too after the steam updates from 2.02 to v2.03  :)

That's good news!  Thanks for the head's up.  Just to clarify, was the laser mine free-floating as I described, or still attached to the tree?  The bug does not occur in 2.02 when the laser mine is still attached to the tree when its planet is captured.

The laser mine was active and also it was in another asteroid and not the one which it was born. I will check this out again in another map and reconfirm it to you ASAP  ;)

I think i misinterpreted. When i played for the 1st time, at the moment of recapturing the enemy asteroid, the active mine which was in another asteroid got killed and only after that i captured the asteroid with an flower attached to the defence tree. So that might have created an Mine for me. Sorry  :-[

I'll add it to the bug database anyway...

Steam finally got the update last week and I can confirm that this bug exists in 2.04.

Also, a little more info on the second bug I mentioned in passing: the computer player will plant multiple flowers on the same tree, whether a dyson tree or a defense tree.
