Explore new asteroids + build new tree behavior
« on: March 04, 2009, 06:04:51 AM »
I just noticed something - not sure whether it's a bug or a feature.

Dyson 1.10

I right-clicked my home asteroid to send a bird to a nearby, unexplored asteroid, to see what was there.

A moment later, and before the bird actually departed, I clicked the button to build a new tree on my home asteroid, which vaporizes 15 of my birds.

I guess one of the vaporized birds was the one that was going to fly to the nearby asteroid, because that never happened and I had to send a new one.

Again, I can't say that this is a bug, exactly, because this may be the way things are supposed to work.

Just an observation.

Yeah, it just takes X random seedlings from the pool around the asteroid, as long as they're not doing something critical that can't be interrupted they're fair game. When the seedlings are sent to travel, they should leave the asteroid immediately and not when they arrive at the other one. It's on the list :)

When you change this, please don't remove them from the seedling count when they're ordered to move. I like being able to go back and see how many I sent (when I sent all). Also, when I'm being attacked and see them before they get to my planet, I like being able to click on the enemy planet to see how many were sent.

We may be able to get around that in some other way, but that's a good point and worth noting. Cheers :)
