Edit: There is a newer version of this level over here http://www.dyson-game.com/smf/index.php?topic=547.0 and I'm still working on getting it to be a genuinely hard level.  I think I'm close but the AI is so passive it gets frustrating, hopefully I'll have another level out this week too.

Hey there everybody, this is a mod of the first arena level with some changes to the AI values and a steady stream of enemy reinforcements.  I'm going to keep tweaking it and adding things but I wanted to get some feedback.  

One major point, the level is hard.  You have to expand as quickly as possible and get many asteroids packed with trees so that your nemesis won't overwhelm you.  Remember that you just have to take their home asteroid to win.

Just download the file into the resources\maps folder of the Eufloria directory, it should then show up in the custom games folder.  

Let me know if the AI feels a little more aggressive, I'm still experimenting with different numbers for the different variables but I'm kinda happy with where it is right now.

Tried the level and finished it just now. Didn't find it that much harder, just that when I got to the enemy, he had about 8 asteroids with about 400 seedlings total. At this point I had about 12 asteroids and 800 seedlings, about 150 of which were super so it was no contest really. I think the AI could do with being a little more aggresive, they don't expand enough at the beginning. 40 of his best seedlings could lay waste to 3 or 4 asteroids easily. There also seemed to be a lot of strong asteroids quite close to my home asteroid which made things quite easy.

Still I enjoyed the level. It was nice to see a battle going on with about 400 seedlings on one asteroid  :)
I've only played it once but will replay it to test it some more.

Thanks for the feedback!  After some additional play testing I've  dialed in the difficulty a little bit more but I haven't found a way to force the AI to be more aggressive.  I've played around with the variables provided and while some of the things I've tried have sort of worked nothing has seemed to really make it that much stronger.  I should have this revamped version up soon.

Also, about having strong asteroids near you, all the asteroids other than your base and their base are randomly generated.  Its a lot harder if you get a more equitable distribution around the level.

Again, I'd love to hear from people who have played either level.  These are early versions of what I'm envisioning but I've never worked in Lua before so its kind of slow going so far.  Also it is really hard to keep an objective eye on a level when you've just played through it ten times.  Later all.

Very enjoyable level. At one point thought I would be overrun when taking with numbers (100+) what seemed like an easy enemy asteroid. The enemy flooded in with a lot of high energy seedlings easily wiping me out. Lucky the flowers had been kind to me and I could counter with an equal number of super seedlings. I took the asteroid but at great cost. Very few seedlings left on all my asteroids. At that point I was weak on all fronts and could have easily been picked of. Fortunately no further attacks and I was able to regroup and go on to win. I see that the enemy only gets 40 seedlings at the start. I might try upping this to see what happens. Will let you know.
