Title: Good luck @ the IGF!
Post by: AriesT on March 20, 2009, 08:11:13 PM
Dear Alex and Rudolf,

I guess you'll fly to the GDC 09 this weekend and so I thought about a "Good Luck" topic. This is the fitting moment, i guess.
I wish you all the best at the IGF and I hope you can win the price! Please make some photos or videos for us.

Now, the other community members can wish you good luck too. ;)

The award ceremony is tonight. I cannot watch it because it's 1am in germany then. :(
I am kind of excited .... hope we can win the price.

Unfortunately I do not know anything about it.
I guess its not allowed to make films because there also wasn't a stream to the keynotes from Mr. Iwata and the other guys.

The IGF homepage is also not updated yet.

Unfortunately, Dyson did not win the IGF price.
Blueberry Garden (http://"http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=22919") made it and won the 30.000$ price. Too sad.  :'(

I can't help but feel a little bitter that blueberry garden, a game no one, except for the judges, has played. I mean, sure, I'm not questioning the judges, and if it really was a better game, then sure, it should have won, but I just feel that the community was kind of cheated.

Alex and myself feel that the nomination itself WAS the win. :-) Blueberry garden is a very touching experience and a good game so we aren't bitter. Erik Svedang (Add umlaut) is a great guy btw so we are very happy for him. Same with Osmos. Once you meet these people you can't be disappointed really, they are wonderful people and very supportive of us as well.

Thanks so much for your kind words though. :-D

Very true, it's nothing small to be nominated! And I think I mean have come off to harsh; I'm happy for erik, and am very much anticipating release of the game.

That's not a bad thing. In my opinion they deserve something for this awesome piece of work, and I'm always happy to support the indies (especially if it means I get to play their games :D).
