Eufloria HD 1.0.1-403 Mac crashes on launch

I just downloaded the newest release of Eufloria HD for Mac from the Humble Bundle, the one updated on Nov. 18. It won't launch at all, just crashes. A crash log is attached. This is a regression, the previous Humble Bundle version worked fine.

Trashing the EufloriaHD folder in ~/Library/Application Support seems to have "fixed" things, at the cost of losing all my progress. Oh well.

Hi, we're looking into this. We've not seen it in the pc build and not had another report of the issue, but we've reported it to the bundle team (they handle the mac port).

In the mean time, we would guess that the problem can be fixed by:

- command+shift+G (or use the menu “Go -> Go to Folder…”)
- in the little panel enter: ~/Library/Application Support/Eufloria
- delete optionsdata.bin

Also, you can use the options-unlock menu to unlock the chapters of the game so you can recover most of your progress. If you retained a copy of that folder through e.g. Time machine then we'd suggest recovering it, other than the optionsdata.bin file.

If anyone else has this problem please post here ASAP as we'll need to pull that build if so.

Now I’m shy to get that update :/ Or would keeping that folder—except for the optionsdata.bin file—keep my progress? I can’t count how often I’ve had to begin anew since I first played, uhm, Dyson …

I've not heard about other probs but yeah I would backup your previous version and data. Then let us know!

There is no reason why the game data should cause a problem but it is vaguely possible something about the options was an issue. We added vsync support - that's the only thing we can think of.
