alter tree type?

hi guys.

was playing last night and had a few asteroids that I couldn't put defense trees on because when I took them over they were already full.
so was thinking would be good if there was feature to alter tree type? at a seed cost obviously :-)

or is this an intended factor in game?

I actually wondered about this myself as it affects a couple of levels, but it would change the tone and balance of the game a little too much maybe.
