UPDATE: The latest version of Eufloria HD fixes most known issues except:

- The touch input frame rate is slow on some devices, including the Nexus 7. This is making the app feel like it's running at a low frame rate even when it isn't. This will be addressed ASAP.

- We're looking at doing something about the annoying Android menu bar on some devices (Nexus 7, I'm looking at you). This isn't imminent but it is on the list. We think we can fade it down at least, but we'll see.

- Android 2.2 devices have a text display issue. Since this is a small number of older devices which are also more likely to struggle with Eufloria, and due to the awkward nature of the technical issue, we will only be supporting Android 2.3+ as a result.

ORIGINAL POST

For those of you who have the humble bundle version of Eufloria on Android.

- Please make sure you have the latest build before reporting a bug.

- There is currently an orientation bug which causes controls to be flipped and crazy if the app isn't started in the orientation it expects. To fix, close the app down and restart it completely from the other orientation. I really hope this is fixed early next week. (FIXED)

- We're aware that performance on some devices *cough nexus 7* is not what we'd like yet. For now, go to options and select the low level of detail and low graphics quality. This makes little difference to overall visuals but runs much faster. We are hoping to investigate the nexus 7 in particular next week. This is the default setting from the latest version but if you are updating you will need to set this manually the first time.

Please post any other android bugs or comments in this thread. Please specify what your hardware and os version is!

I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus, with Android 4.1.2.

After i've installed the game, i launched it. What came up was the colorful logo at the lower right corner, with the rest of the screen being pitch black, and nothing loads.

I leave it to load, but nothing happens.

Thanks limi. I've reported it to Apportable (the android experts). We'll see what we can do.

I am experiencing perfomance issues on note10.1.
As soon as i touch the screen, to scroll, make a move or anything, the fps drop extremely and the fun is gone.

Yes, got that reported elsewhere on the forum. After the orientation issue is fixed properly, performance is next.

@LiMi - Thanks for reporting this.  We haven't been able to reproduce this issue on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and also make sure that you're not running a lot of apps in the background when you launch it?  Let us know how it goes.

@fsutit - We're investigating the performance issue on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet now.

Whenever there is some text (menu, in the game, even the version number on the bottom left corner), the words flicker. It seems that every word is replaced by some random characters for a brief moment every now and then.
E.g. in the Title Screen ViewArtifacts is replaced by ViewP, View)*, View)13 and so on.

In the first Level the is a number on the left-hand side on the screen. This is constantly changing from 01 to 01_0, 01_<), 01_8* ... you get the idea

Had a couple of reports like this. Can you check if this happens on the most recent build?

@yell Thanks for reporting this issue!  We'd appreciate it if you could take a screenshot or two and post it here or send it into the email support box (androidsupport [at] eufloria-game [dot] com).  Also, is your version of Android a custom ROM or stock 2.2?

T999 = Samsung Galaxy S3 (T-Mobile), Model SGH-T999, Android v4.0.4, Baseband T999UVLG1.

Eufloria plays fine in general.  What follows is a list of problems I have found so far:

1. It is not possible to double click on an asteroid to zoom in or out.

2. It is also not possible to click on any artifact (I only tried the first two I found before verifying it is possible to click in the Ubuntu version).

3. When an asteroid is clicked, the Ubuntu version will show icons to allow you to plant a Dyson tree or send seedlings to another asteroid.  In T999, I have to click the rewind icon first (as it's the only icon that shows) to get the list of icons.

Thanks.

This works on my Nexus. i guess you've tried double tapping fast, slow, etc?

Can I just check that you have owned the asteroid and zoomed in a little?

Can you provide a screenshot? Which level is this, or all levels?

Thanks for the report - sounds like there may be some issues on that device.

This screenshot is maximum zoom in on the artifact.  I tried fast and slow speed.  I tried tapping on it slowly and fast.  The asteroid is mine.  There are no enemy seedlings.

This is the first level with an artifact I think.  I don't see a level indicator.
Level Goal: Destroy your enemy.  Colonize all asteroids.

We have an update in test which may resolve the touch issue, however I'll direct Apportable to your post just in case.

Thanks for the tip, and for a lovely game! For other Kindle Fire HD owners with upside down-issues:

1. Kill the game first.
2. Place your Kindle upside down (camera at the bottom) and start the game.
3. The game should now be upside down, but the controls will be correct.
4. Return to original positioning (camera at top). The game will now be the right way, and the controls will work as expected :)

Kind regards
Boqs

I tested a build with the orientation issue fixed. As long as further tests work, we'll get the bundle build updated tonight with any luck. There are a few other fixes too.

@rcpa0 - We were not able to reproduce issues #1 and #3 on our Galaxy S3 testing device.  However, it does appear that it's not possible to select artifacts, so we'll look into this.  We'll have an update out soon that fixes a bunch of issues, and hopefully it will help with some of the issues you're experiencing.

EDIT: We were able to select artifacts on the Galaxy S3 after colonizing the relevant asteroid by planting a tree.  Did you try planting a tree before attempting to select the artifact?

Hello. Generally the game works really well on my Nexus 7 (although the performance could have been better), but I've had two issues.

1) Achievements don't seem to trigger. At first I though "I probably didn't really send 300+ seedlings to their death", but the problem is more obvious now that I've actually completed the game, and the last level in 60 minutes, and the relevant achievements still haven't triggered. Or is it just that there is no visual feedback on unlucked ones vs locked ones?

2) Sometimes, captured planets keep producing "passive" enemy seedlings. Planets I've held for a long time will occasionally show that it has, for example, "5" enemy seedlings on it. The number will grow very slowly over the course of the level. These seedlings aren't rendered anywhere, aren't causing any harm to my seedlings, trees or anything else, and generally don't matter at all, but are a bit confusing in the UI since the planet _should_ be under attack.

This is on build 1503.

Neither issue really affected gameplay of this otherwise awesome game. :)

See this post and get back to me :)

There is no visual feedback due to Game Center not being on Android. We need to try and come up with something for this. Check that the achievements have been passed, however. Note there was a minor achievement flaw (not sure if it would have caused a problem) which has been corrected on the build about to go up. It may have caused the odd achievement to be missed.

Fixed in the update about to go up (run the humble bundle app to check for updates).

I don't know exactly when it will go live!

hi, i downloaded the last update since i made the complaint, it worked for me on Galaxy Nexus!

Now it's just some performance issue - some low frame rates during game play when there are many seedlings flying around.

Anyway, thanks for listening to the users' feedbacks! :)

If you have lots of seedlings you do tend to have to stay more zoomed out (and use lower graphics/lod options if it's a problem).

I just tried on a lost outpost on level 9.  It's an orange one on the bottom center large asteroid.  The artifact cannot be clicked either before I planted anything--there were already two--or after I planted the maximum.

Have you zoomed in and is it already open? I've never seen them go wrong so far.
