Title: Mini Beta - Call for testers
Post by: Rudolf on September 16, 2010, 07:04:56 PM
Hey all, Alex and I have been working hard on the PSN version of the game, and there is some exciting news to come regarding another port. (hohoh hooo!)
In the process we are adding a number of improvements to the pc version of the game. There will likely be an intermeddiate release with these additions, which feature AI improvements, rebalancing of gameplay mechanics and attributes and some added simple (but useful) visual feedback.

We will likely have to rejig a bunch of levels to make this stuff sit well with the current game content, and that means the release is far from trivial. So, before we do so we would like to run a mini beta to let people have a play with this stuff and get some diverse feedback. I don't want to overstate the changes we made,, so don't expect a totally different game, but there is enough there to warrant some proper testing.

If you are up for that please let us know. We don't need many people but a diverse bunch would be good. Some experience with the game would be good, so you can compare, but relatively new is good too, so you are fresh to the experience.

If you are interested please mail us your: Real name + forum nick, system spec, level of experience with the game, ability to edit level content (Lua Modding) this skill is not required btw. Mail it to rudolf@eufloria-game.com and we will take it from there. EDIT: Please add "Mini Beta - Call for testers" to the email subject. :-)

Well, I would...

But factory-resetting my computer only to find that it doesn't work (won't reinstall windows or summat) kinda stops me. Recovery disks burned *by the computer in question* also 'are not supported'. Ridiculous.

EDIT: After frightening at least one person with this post, I thought I'd better say that the reset is only connected to the beta because it is what is stopping me from participating. It is not necessary for the beta. Sorry for that, Bonobo.

FACTORY-RESETTING THE COMPUTER? (oops, sorry for shouting)

Would this be necessary for beta testing? :o I don’t think so. And thank [gød] my Parallels Desktop makes snapshots of my virtual Vista machine so I’d have little to fear.

This factory reset is totally unrelated to testing. :-)

Also, I haven't given anybody new content yet!

I would like to get involved in this mini beta.  I have been playing the RTS genre for almost 2 decades now.  I really enjoy what Eufloria brings to the table. I will email you everything you wish to know.
