This topic is not meant towards the game, but rather the forum:

There is so little forum activity, there is, in matter of facts: only 3 guys(I belive, if AWS is making something...) creating maps and around a good 10 guests per day.

I've wanted to say this for a loooooong time! Can't this forum get more attention?

You can see the difference between the popularity of the game and the popularity of the forum, for example: The official trailer for eufloria at youtube, has 200 000 views, and it doesn't seem to link to the forum(atleast not correctly, yes it got the www.dyson-game.com/ link, but it needs smf at the end to get to this forum... (Actually, that link leads to the main page, maybe a link from the main page would help? (there is one already, but very small, just like all the other buttons)))

I'm sorry if it seems I am very upset or whining, but I'm used to big forums, and I wish this forum was too, it and the players deserves it

AWS is quite busy in Real Life, AFAIK, and currently only returns every now and then to update the Maps thread. And yes, it’s sad to see how many of the formerly very active people seem to have left.

Problem is, you can’t beat Eufloria users to use the forum.

Also it *may* be that for some players, after some time of playing, the interest ebbs off somewhat … I for one can say that I’ve overfed myself quite some, seeing seedlings before my inner eye when trying to sleep, etc., etc., sometimes half-dreaming of huge armadas of seedlings crossing the sky when trying to sleep … that was too much for me.

Although … if it were easer for me to play Eufloria, i.e. w/o this friggin’ Virtual Machine and instead natively on Mac OS X, I’d sure be playing more often, just half an hour or so now and then. BTW I’ll have an iPad 2 soon … already salivating for Eufloria on iOS

Anyway, the problem of the interest ebbing off would certainly be fought if more people knew about the forum, and especially, about the lots of user-made maps.

The custom maps are what the players that don't know about the forum should have access to. And early in custom maps, it was hard to find add it(atleast first time for me ) and the maps wasn't so advance, because of lack of flexability in the XML system I belive, now: with lua, most people should give the custom made maps a second chance

i agree i think there hasn't been a single post in like 2 days now,
and indeed ofcourse you can't force people to go on the forum.
But encouraging them or at least making it known would help, or links on the main site to the custom lvls.

Off topic:

How far are you BTW, is it possible to play against yet?

Nope. RL is happening, as is my summer college project, decorating the house, setting up my new/old comp (getting a VGA cable for a reasonable price rather than £25, trying to find it a soundcard, software installs, etc), and general getting-in-the-way type stuff. It does, however, explore the map quite well. It just can't fight, which makes it a little pointless. Oh, it also doesn't have a definite name. I'm thinking that since it seems rather bloated, I'll call it the OverHead AI. Lots of processor overhead, see?

That, and if I do call it that, an acronym for it would be OHAI. That's probably the main reason I have for caling it that.

We SO need more AIs.  The more AIs there are, the greater the AI ecosystem, and the greater the opportunity for new, more powerful AI's to evolve from it (we learn from each others improvements).

The site needs a redesign really, and more posts on the blog that link to the forum. I will get to that in the next few weeks I hope :-)
The Wikipedia page an do with more and better content too.

Still suffering from having to clear backlog built up over the last 12 months.

There should be an increase in activity after the PSN release and certainly once we release the backport.
Some of the activity takes place on the Steam forum, as we sold loads of games there:
