I'm pretty sure this is the right area to post this.

Is it possible to get the game music? To be able to say, play it on my ipod? i looked in the folder where it downloaded to and only found .dll files. What should i do if i want to get the .mp3 files?

The full suite of music will eventually be made available by Brian Grainger, our awesome music/audio person. How exactly we will do that has not yet been decided. Let me point him at this thread and get back to you :-)
For now you can drop by his (well, one of his) website here:  http://www.second-sun.net/

But I will follow up in this thread!

Thanks for the interest! The tracks themselves are not really available outside the game at the moment, unless you can figure out how to extract them, which is fine by me.

To be completely honest - I'm working towards finishing more new music for the final build, and that also entails mastering and editing what music we already have to (what I hope will be) crisp, clean and perfect. The state of the music at this point in time is unmastered and unedited, and like the game, incomplete. Once I'm done with it, I'm certain that there will be an "official soundtrack" for Dyson available, likely within the year, which will be the comprehensive collection of all the Dyson music and sounds in one collectible volume.

Maybe you can make a soundtrack package as kind of a commercial like Kyle Gabler did it with the World of Goo soundtrack, for those ones who do not know that the music files are in the Resources folder. :D

I love your smooth soundtrack, Milieu!

There's actually lots of other reasons that I'd like to produce a hardcopy CD version of the soundtrack once the game is done, but the biggest one is simply that there is a notable number of people who follow my work that aren't really a part of the gaming community, and would likely miss out on my music any other way. Beyond that though, I've told Alex and Rudolf that I'd like them to generate all the visual content of the packaging for the CD, since the design of the game itself has been a huge part of the music I've worked on for it, and I'd ideally like to even include an earlier free build of the game to be packaged on the CD itself, like a mixed-media thing.

So yeah, I wasn't even aware about the resources folder containing the tracks, but that's totally fine. I'm cool with those files being available or circulated in that way because, going back to the CD idea, the quality will be much much better after it's been mastered and the CD has been sourced from those master files. The tracks in the game itself are actually quite low bitrate, which pretty much kills the quality for lots of people who might be audiophile-types!

Anyway, I'm glad you guys are into the music, there's actually more on the way.

The music is great, but the sound effects aren't perfectly suitable yet.
