Commercials for Eufloria?
« on: October 12, 2009, 01:47:33 AM »
Eufloria is about to land in online stores and I mentioned that a lot of people do not know the game because they never heard about it.

So, I'm asking myself: Will there be some kind of commercial beside some "NEW ON STEAM" message?
Eufloria got the potencial to become a smash hit on STEAM and the other online store plattforms. However, as said, I'm missing some ads to catch even more interested people. Escpecially those who do not even know this website.

Is there anything the community could do beside making some viral marketing in their gaming communities and stuff? Or are you already planning to have some ads around, Alex?

Great point, you really should make an issue of this, unfortunately I know another great game that failed horribly because the lack of attention, now it's almost dead (multiplayer) while it's the best strategy game I know, Multiwinia.

Don't assume a game will sell itself no matter how good it is, cause those who play it will only have so much of a reach to other people, atleast send out the code for reviews out early enough is my advice.

I am going to try to make a decent trailer on Sunday!
btw, I made the one that is on the direct2drive site, but a, they cut it short, and b, I am not happy with it, so I am not distributing it right now.

There will be  alot more press when the reviews start appearing, and we will send out review copies around launch time.

Finally, I have some cunning novel ideas about getting people to write about the game, but need to think them through a bit.

I already had a chat with Alex about what we can do for the german market, because I could help you with it. Maybe you can write down some lines about yourself, about the game, its content and stuff (a fact sheet), I will translate it for you and then you just need to send the text + the full release version as a text example to the two big gaming magazines in Germany. (GameStar and Pc Games, you'd get the email adresses from me).
So you could reach about 200.000 german gamers who might not know the game but do want to buy it after reading the article / review.

And as you might know, the amount of PC gamers in germany are higher than in any other european country. ;)

Well, I was a game journalist some time ago (five years ago, right) and I still have some contacts, so count me in.

Make the russian gaming people go crazy for Eufloria. :D

My offer for the german market is real, too. ;)
Hope Eufloria will become a good selling title.

I don't think it necessary to translate it to German though. I think those guys are quite capable to read and understand English.

An official Eufloria domain with a German frontpage and possibly FAQ for the average user would be more useful I guess.
