Crash when having too many seedlings attack an asteroid
« on: February 26, 2009, 11:15:46 AM »
I was playing a level and amassed quite an army before delivering the final blow.  It was one of the circular type asteroid belt levels called The Rose from Metarinka.  As I came around from both sides with 4 groups of 150-200 seedlings each and converged on the final heavily defended asteroid, something weird started happening.  Some of my seedlings started heading off to the middle of the map where there were no asteroids and I noticed these weird little dashed red lines shooting off from my mass of seedlings to the same location.  Shortly after that it froze up and crashed.  I tried to take a screen shot, but the crash box obscured most of it.  Attached what I got.

Wow that's really screwed up. I would guess that something went wrong with the seedling destination code and it got set to zero, so they all went to the centre of the map... the red lines are the attacks, but it's weird that they would still be able to attack each other over that kind of distance. I'll look into it. Cheers.

Raven: You concentrated too much mass around one asteroid, thus causing a fluctuation in the fabric of space/time, and causing a massive sub-genetic disruption that completely rewrote the behavioral code of your seedlings.

Either that, or it's a bug that has to do with running out of memory to store seedling info in.
