Title: Math Question
Post by: Aino on July 30, 2011, 09:24:52 PM
So, I got a little math question :P

We all know(if we've been working with it and see the logic) that multiplaying under 1 and over 0 gives percent as return, but what about dividing, is there any specific outputs from dividing "percent wise"?

It all depends on your perspective. LET'S BEGIN.

Assume that 10% of the number of people in a room are Norwegian. There are 25 Norwegians in the room. How many total people are there in the room?

10% of numRoomPeople = 25

0.10( numRoomPeople ) = 25

numRoomPeople = 25 / 0.10 = 250 people

In that situation, dividing by the percentage gave the total.

Well, that's cool, let's test with 0.33 :D

Aaaaand: Why Norwegians? o.O

I picked Norwegians so you'd retain the information better

Btw, when I'm going back to school, having about percent and total, I'll outsmart my techer :D

She doesn't accept *0.percent even o.O She instist it is The total*Percent/100, which is much a much longer(yet the same) formula, maybe easier to use without calculator, but who cares? :D

And finding the total is much harder, infacrt I always forget the formula she gives away o.O

I think I would retain it even though you used fishes :P
