Title: red seed
Post by: MasterShake24 on August 28, 2009, 01:04:04 PM
ok not a big deal if its even fixable but every once in a while, unpredictably a bunch of red lines flash across my screen when im zooming in/ out, i would not be suprised if someone smarter than me told me its a graphics issue and my computer sucks, or that some seedlings have super long ranged lasers, or... something but just thought id let you know if you think its actually a problem

i've seen it to. but only when I have more than a couple hundred seedlings and they're in attack mode. A quick grid of red lines with cross through the screen, but like Shake said, only when I'm zooming in or out.

I'm running a Mac with OSX 10.5.7 and using Mono to do it. I figured it was just a graphics issue as well...

actually, i believe this is the exact same issue:

When i collect a lot of seeds on different planets - they wouldn't fly together to one planet (two groups about 600) and they very slow react on my commands...I can send them on free planets but they need a time to start moving (about half minute)...
I have powerful computer (Quad 6600) and 4gb of Ram. I think that it's trouble in engine.

Also I see some clutter lines when number of seeds on map is very high (I think that it's their noses or smth - from which they fire...i think that they almoust infinity (very long) and enging doesn't have time to cut them before I see)

And sorry for my english :-[

alrighty happy to kno im not crazy...

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 3600+
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405
766 mb of physical memory

they dont seem like a grid to me, they are pretty dam random, and some are diagonal i think, idk tho, its hard to recreate them when you actually want to

What happens is that seedlings record what entity it is they attacked, and then in the drawing code they draw a line to that entity. However, in 1.20 I don't clear that record if the seedling is off-screen, so when they eventually come back on-screen the line draws regardless. It's fixed in the development build now. Thanks.
